Level 2 NVQ in Construction and Civil Engineering Operations (Construction)

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Construction and Civil Engineering Operations qualification provides a nationally recognised qualification for existing workers and new entrants to the Civil Construction Industry, working in the specialised area of ground works operations.

The qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment, which means you will need to be employed to undertake this qualification.

 

The qualification enables you to demonstrate your skills, knowledge, understanding and competence in a real workplace environment so you can work in the Construction and Civil Engineering Operations sectors.

 

You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you.

 

You will learn key practical skills and knowledge in mandatory units, but then chose your optional units to create your own personal pathway. ​​​​​​

​

No matter what pathway unit you choose, Construction and Civil Engineering Operations NVQ has the same 2 mandatory units. You must show evidence of the below for any pathway that you chose:

  • Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace

  • Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
